Better View

View to the harbour

It still took a bit of an effort to find somewhere with a view, but when I suddenly happened upon the speakers of the monastery, mounted so they would reach the entire valley, the view revealed itself in all its glory.

It's even better than the temple's, it provides an overview of all of Odysseus' kingdom, from the harbour on the left to Mount Neriton on the right. Somewhere down there the city of Ithaca and Odysseus' palace must have been. Wow!

It promises a far better prospect for the location of Eumaios' hut, topped off with an excellent view over Ithaca Valley, all quite wonderfully fitting Homer's description. Fair to say, I was rather chuffed with this newfound location.
