Tell Penelope
Now my dear Eumaios, go up quickly and tell the prudent Penelope that I am safe and that I have returned from Pylos. I will stay here. Then come back. Only tell her!

After Eumaios has introduced the stranger "from Crete" (Odysseus) to Telemachos, they have breakfast together, then Telemachos says to Eumaios:
Eumaios immediately leaves for Odysseus' palace in the city, doubtlessly Penelope is eager to learn about her son's safe return. Since we estimated Telemachos' arrival at Eumaios' hut to be on December 18th, around 8:30 hrs, Eumaios probably leaves about nineish.
In scroll 3 we deduced that the city of Ithaca was most probably situated somewhere in the purple area, which is now called Spartias. In order to get there, we started walking from Eumaios' hut in a southerly direction, passing Arethousa, then turning west, down a steep hill (Hermes Hill), which took us 1 hour and 10 minutes.
Let's look at a panoramic view of Spartias.
