Spartias
Koloni Spartias seen from Spartias
INDEX
Spartias in the sun
Streams and meadows of Spartias
Koloni Spartias
Much like Poros, Spartias is also hidden from view. A small hill, now called Koloni Spartias, prevents Spartias from being visible from the sea and the bay. The soil is wet and clayish and the grass is very green. A number of small streams divide the grassy meadows and agricultural land into numerous fields all over Spartias. The streams must have deposited a lot of sediment over 3,250 years and can easily have buried Ithaca City. The few houses in Spartias nowadays are all newly built.
